Supporters from many clubs across the country wished the fans of Hereford FC well, and expressed their delight at HFC’s progress, at the Supporters Summit held at the weekend.  Hosted by Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters’ Federation, the venue was the FA’s centre at St. George’s Park near Burton-upon-Trent. 180 delegates attended, representing supporters of clubs in the Premier League, Football League, National League, Southern and Northern Leagues, Ryman and Isthmian Leagues.

“To think less than 3 years ago our own football club could have been lost. Now we have taken our place again within the football family” said HUST delegate, Richard Tomkins.

Speakers and workshops covered a range of topics to help supporter organisations grow and thrive in a challenging world.

There was latest news from the current round of clubs in crisis. “It’s heart breaking to hear stories that seem so familiar to Hereford fans” says the HUST chairman. “Some of these clubs are near neighbours of ours. Fortunately, supporters throughout the land are getting better organised and seemingly impossible odds can now often be beaten.”
