Press Release from Redditch United ahead of the Bank Holiday Monday fixture against Hereford:

Ahead of the eagerly-anticipated Evo-Stik South – Premier fixture against Hereford FC on Easter Monday (3pm KO), Redditch United would like to make supporters aware of some important information ahead of the match.

Due to the number of away supporters expected, the club has acted accordingly to ensure all fans can travel to and away from The TRICO Stadium safely and enjoy the game.

Tickets and entry

Redditch United encourages supporters to arrive at the turnstiles earlier than normal. Home fans can pay on the gate; however, they will only be able to gain entry to the ground by using the Cedar Road turnstile or a specially-formed turnstile, which will be positioned next to the clubhouse by Terry Field.

Hereford FC supporters, meanwhile, will only gain access to the ground via the main turnstile, which is at the front of the stadium. Currently, it is an all-ticket match for away supporters, meaning they must buy tickets prior to travelling; however, Redditch United is liaising with Hereford FC to establish whether visiting supporters will be allowed to pay on the gate.

Parking

There is no public parking available at the ground, but there is street parking and there are several car parks in the local area. The closest is on Edward Street – postcode is B97 6HA – which is a five-minute walk from the stadium. There are also a number of multi-storey car parks by the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, all of which are a maximum 15-minute walk from the stadium.

Blue Badge Parking is not affected and is available at the ground, near the main entrance.

Facilities

The TRICO Stadium turnstiles will be open from 12.30pm, and The Reds Bar will be open to home supporters only, which will show Preston North End versus Derby County (12.45pm KO) and Portsmouth versus Wigan Athletic (5.30pm KO) on the big screen.

Hereford fans, meanwhile, will have access to their own bar, which will be open from 1pm until the end of half-time. A range of food and drinks will be on-sale, along with matchday programmes.

Keeping supporters safe

There will be a West Mercia Police presence in and around the town centre prior to the match. This, along with the other arrangements made, is to help maximise the safety of both Redditch United and Hereford FC supporters, as well as the general public.

With these provisions in-place it will mean both sets of fans can enjoy the day without incident. Redditch United hope supporters understand the club’s stance.

If supporters from either Redditch United or Hereford FC have any questions, please contact club officials at The TRICO Stadium on 01527 67450.
