The recent additions to the Hereford squad have yet to convince the bookmakers that the Bulls will be in contention for a promotion bid.
One of the countries leading bookmakers, BetVictor, have released early odds for the upcoming Motorama National League North and show Hereford as 16/1 outsiders alongside Boston, Telford and Bradford Park Avenue.
York City are favourites for the 2019/20 campaign, with Chester FC next at 6/1 whilst Altrincham, Brackley Town, Spennymoor Town and Southport are all available at 10/1.
Last year Stockport County were highlighted as the bookies favourites, and they went on to clinch the title and automatic promotion.
York, under manager Steve Watson, are heading to a new stadium in 2019/20 and are remaining full-time, but have upset many local supporters with a hike in season ticket and matchday prices with the move due by the New Year.
AFC Telford United featured heavily last season but will have to replace the firepower of 26-goal Daniel Udoh who moved to League One Shrewsbury Town last week. They are priced at 12/1 for the title.
The rebuilding of the Edgar Street squad needs far more work if the Bulls are to be truly competitive, say the bookmakers, suggesting that at the moment Hereford are likely to “fall a bit short”.
New Darlington boss Alun Armstrong has taken no less than five players with him from the Blyth Spartans side he managed to the play-offs last season.
At the bottom, newly promoted Farsley Celtic (50/1) are tipped to struggle. Gloucester City are also available at (50/1) as they are expected to be transferred from the National League South, along with Oxford City (33/1).
