The Hereford head coach Marc Richards expressed delight at the Bulls 2-0 victory at Spennymoor Town this afternoon.

However, this was not without some defensive lapses in the first period and it was not until the second half when Hereford proved to be solid at the back.

After a succession of Spennymoor chances, Hereford pounced to bag two goals immediately prior to the break. Lance Smith neatly and accurately finding the corner of the net after Kyle Finn had a shot saved by Matt Gould’s legs. Then came the crucial goal when Tom Owen-Evans drilled home a spot-kick after being felled on the edge of the area.

Richards hopes this will be a platform to build on over the run-in and is looking forward to the challenge the Bulls face against promotion chasing Stockport County at Edgar Street next Saturday.
