The staggering level of demand for FA Cup tickets for this weekend’s clash with AFC Telford United at Edgar Street has ensured that not only have all seating sections of the ground sold out, but the Meadow End terracing has also reached the current capacity as defined by the clubs safety certificate.

With AFC Telford officials confident the away allocation of 727 will also be sold by Saturday, a new Hereford FC record crowd appears likely.

As at Monday evening there were less than 250 terrace tickets left for the Len Weston terracing.

Speaking to the Official Hereford FC website this afternoon, a delighted Chairman Ken Kinnersley said, “We’ve been blown away by the incredible speed of sales. To have sold out of seats within hours of going on general sale is a super effort from everyone. I’d like to thank all our fans for their support so far – it is absolutely amazing!

“We can’t thank our fantastic supporters enough, and with the terraces getting closer to a sell out, it looks set to be an incredible atmosphere on Saturday.”

It may be a long way short of the 18,114 that packed into the famous old stadium back in January 1958 for an FA Cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday, but “cup-fever” has certainly returned to the City of Hereford in 2017!
