Hereford begin their pre-season build up ahead of the new Vanarama National League North campaign with a friendly at Wellington on Saturday, 6th July, kick-off 3pm.

The match will provide Bulls’ supporters with their first chance of casting their eyes over the eight new summer signings following the arrival of: goalkeeper Brandon Hall from Kidderminster Harriers, defenders Rhys Davies from Shrewsbury Town and Martin Riley from Alfreton, midfielders Jordan Nicholson from Darlington, Jacob Jagger Cane and Jason Pope from Weston Super Mare, and winger Alex Bray from Rotherham United, plus striker Reece Styche from Alfreton.

According to the Wellington manager Gary Stevens the home side are looking forward to pitting their wits against the new-look Hereford squad, although he will be unable to attend the match due to a family holiday.

Stevens said, “The pitch is in immaculate condition. Probably the best I’ve ever seen it, and we’re expecting a good game.

“Everything is set up ready for a good crowd”.

Wellington Playing Fields is in the village of Wellington just off the A49 – postcode HR4 8AZ – with parking onsite and refreshments available on site, and a licenced bar available pre- and post-match in the clubhouse further into the village.

From Hereford, take the A49 north towards Leominster for approximately 5 miles then take the left turning into Wellington Village. After about four hundred yards, turn into the vehicle access to the school and follow the narrow roadway from the back left of the school car park to the large parking area behind the Stand.

Regular bus service from Hereford…catch the 12.45 or 13.45 from train station and get off at
Wellington Turn (Service 492).  Return service (from Wellington Turn) leaves at 17.37 getting you to the train station at 17.55.  Wellington FC is just 350 metres from Wellington Turn.

Admission prices are £6 for adults, £4 for concessions, Under 16’s free.  A programme will be available priced £1.

Licensed Bar serving Real Ale, Lager and Cider all at cellar temperature. 

Pitch located to the rear of Wellington School at HR4 8AZ. 

Ample car parking. Both the Wellington Inn and the Social Club (Football Club HQ) offer post-match refreshments and can be found by continuing up the village road for a further quarter of a mile.

If you are unable to make the match there will be full match commentary on Radio Hereford FC with coverage starting shortly before kick-off.
